Audrey / Arthur

Released in the Spring of 2009, M. Women’s Audrey b/w Arthur 7” captures the trio in their nascent stage — the moment when they shed their original “Medieval Women moniker and make a studio debut. The record is comprised of two of their earliest anthems: “Audrey” captures the unknown spirit that flows throughout the ether of the Pacific Northwest, while its flipside, “Arthur” is a hypnotizing jam inspired by an article in the New Yorker.

The result is a single that offers a glimpse into the melodic idiosyncrasies of a musical entity that deconstructs previous notions of rock n’ roll ambiance; abstracting concepts of paranoid states inspired equally by elements of fiction and non-fiction. A perfect introduction to their Faithful LP, available later this Fall.
